Ealing Studios goes green with new EV charging installations

Ealing Studios has sealed a deal with Good Energy's electric vehicle (EV) charging solution One Point service to install three fast chargers at its base in West London.

The three 22KW fast chargers will be spread across two locations on-site and the investment is designed to support Ealing Studios’ employees, clients and actors make more sustainable choices.

Good Energy will operate and maintain the charge points for the film production facility for three years.

This latest move follows Ealing Studio’s decision last year to switch to 100% renewable energy - Good Energy will supply the site with 4.75GWh of clean power over two years, an estimated saving of 1,204 tonnes of carbon dioxide, the equivalent of taking almost 1,000 cars off the streets each year.

Juliet Davenport, CEO and Founder of Good Energy, said: “Ealing Studios is showcasing how the creative sector can take meaningful climate action. Britain has a world-leading film and TV industry, but it’s also energy-intensive and often reliant on dirty energy."

Ealing’s Studio Manager, Charlie Fremantle said: “Productions are increasingly looking at sustainable business models and at Ealing, we are leading the way in offering genuine green solutions."
