Timken targets 50% emissions reduction by 2030

The Timken Company, a manufacturer of bearings and power transmission products, has announced its goal to reduce Scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas emissions intensity by 50% by 2030.

It is investing in plant efficiency projects and establishing plans to purchase more renewable energy while encouraging company associates to have eco-friendly mindsets.

Plant teams have received training and are holding energy and waste walks to help identify everyday savings, in addition to submitting ideas for larger energy efficiency projects.

It is also creating optimised designs that reduce power loss and consumption, extend life service, cut down on maintenance and are manufactured using recycled materials.
