Tesla has revealed its Berlin plant is now manufacturing 4,000 electric vehicles (EVs) a week, three weeks quicker than previously planned.
It has stated the Brandenburg facility is now operating at a third of the production rate of its plant in Shanghai – which is producing around 1,000 EVs below its maximum capacity.
The Chinese building hub currently makes 13,000 of Tesla’s Model Y on a weekly basis – and the company is aiming for the German plant to reach 10,000 each week eventually.
Next on the business’ agenda is building EV batteries and fuel cells in Germany.
