OVO Foundation launches £1m programme to educate 100,000 young people on climate change

The charitable arm of OVO Energy, OVO Foundation, has launched a new programme to educate more than 100,000 children and young people to take action on the climate crisis.

The 'Climate Changers' scheme aims to support projects, which encourage children and adults across the UK to help fight the climate crisis and create more sustainable communities.

Young people will be taught on how to reduce their carbon footprint, protect the physical environment and limit their impact on the planet.

The funding, which is part of the energy company's sustainability 'Plan Zero' strategy, will be shared by three projects and is expected to save 6,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions in schools and create 12 forest spaces absorbing approximately 7,200kg carbon dioxide in the next three years.
