Vattenfall issues €500m green bond

Vattenfall has issued a new €500 million (£434.66m) green bond, which was oversubscribed by more than six times.

The clean energy company now has two green bonds outstanding, with a total size of €1 billion (£869m).

The proceeds will be used to finance investments in renewable energy, energy efficiency, the electrification of transport and heat and a range of industrial projects.

Vattenfall's CFO Anna Borg said: “We have once again seen a very strong interest among European investors when issuing our new green bond.

"Vattenfall has considerable investment plans for the coming years, where we will continue to invest according to our vision of enabling a fossil-free life within one generation."
