Wind is forecast to generate around 7GW today, according to npower’s daily market report.

It is currently providing 16% of the mix however, it may be weaker in the next couple of days.

Solar generation will peak at 3.9GW and is expected to maintain those levels during the week.

Nuclear is providing 28%, CCGT 40% and the French interconnector is importing at full capacity.

The gas system has opened short this morning.

Brent oil is trading at 44.8/bbl (£34/bbl).

Mr Morgan added: It is trading higher this morning as OPEC is reported to be considering restraining output, talk of which has buoyed the crude market. The US Dollar rose on Friday on Non Farm data release but has been steady measured against a basket of global currencies over the weekend."
