The EIB invests €150 million in household energy products

The European Investment Bank is financing the development of eco design products.

The Swedish household products manufacturer Electrolux has received €150 million loan (£108m) to help it produce innovative household goods that consume less electricity and use fewer resources.

It also wants to use more recycled material in its products.

EIB Vice-President responsible for lending in Sweden Jonathan Taylor said: “We are pleased to be able to sign this agreement with Electrolux, as this project with its strong environmental component will contribute to achieving a resource-efficient and climate change resilient economy and society.”

The project will take place in Sweden, Italy and Germany.
