MP Tim Yeo facing energy committee mutiny?

Colleagues of the chair of Parliament’s watchdog for energy matters are reported to be considering trying to oust him from his position.

Tim Yeo, the chairman of the Energy and Climate Change Committee is said to have attracted discontent over his financial interests in renewable energy, which he has been supportive of during his time in the role.

Some MPs who sit on the committee are apparently not happy with the potential clash of interest, reported the Daily Mail.

Mr Yeo defended his earnings from green energy firms of nearly £140,000, telling the paper: "Not only have my interests been correctly registered at all times but... they were listed in full on the ballot paper circulated to all MPs when I was elected chair of the committee in June 2010.”
