Cheniere and GAIL India Sign 20-Year LNG deal

Indian gas company Cheniere Energy Partners, L.P. announced today that its subsidiary, Sabine Pass Liquefaction, LLC, has entered into a liquefied natural gas sale and purchase agreement with GAIL India for the shipping of approximately 3.5 million tonnes per annum of LNG.

The sale and purchase agreement is due to last for twenty years and has the option to be extended for a further ten.

Mr. B. C. Tripathi, Chairman & Managing Director, GAIL (India) Limited said: "The SPA with Cheniere will help GAIL to ensure long term gas supply for the growing demand in the Indian market."
