Malaysia goes for green transport

The Government of Kuala Lumpur is working towards expanding the use of hybrid and electric cars in Malaysia.

It has landed an Electric Vehicle Infrastructure roadmap, which incorporates a vehicle-testing programme.

Datuk Noriah Kasnon, Deputy Energy and Green Technology Minister said: "The government has taken various measures towards a more conducive environment for the use of electric vehicles in Malaysia."

The plan includes low interest loans to make the vehicles more affordable to the general public.
