ELN is celebrating its first birthday and I’d like to thank you all for your loyalty and support.
In the year since we started, we’ve grown from a standing start to a readership of 30,000 plus. We’ve travelled all over the country and filmed stories on subjects as diverse as taxis powered on chip fat to electricity market reform, road tested electric cars and explored future flight. Our daily news is, I believe, unrivalled in the business energy sector and we aim to strengthen and develop our coverage with more stories and more subjects.
We’ve interviewed the leading names of the industry and government and talked to the energy managers, buyers and suppliers that make this whole sector go round.
Our aim when we started Energy Live News was to bring you an informed, independent, concise snapshot of the interesting stories and issues in the fascinating world of energy and I hope you have found our coverage to be of the highest standard.
We very deliberately decided to cover all sectors of energy and give all voices a platform to be heard and that ethos will continue as we go forward. So if you are an academic, green campaigner, fossil fuel advocate or policy junkie, energy manager, consultant or supplier, we will have covered a story for you and will do more so over the coming months.
Our unique player has been a great way to get the news out but the sheer volume of material we now have and the archive we’ve built up means we need to change. So we will be soon moving to a full website with new features and the ability to comment on our stories. We’ll start to provide you with background material and briefings to help you understand what’s going on and we will start bringing you more international news.
I want ELN to grow to become THE PLACE for your energy news and I know with your support we can do that. So please help us celebrate our birthday by telling your friends and colleagues about our service, keep telling us what you’d like to see and hear and as ever send us your stories.
Here’s to a fantastic and fruitful second year and I hope we’ll have your trust and support as your favourite source of energy news
