Renewable electricity supplier Good Energy today revealed it is freezing its gas and electricity tariffs.

With three of the UK’s ‘Big Six’ suppliers already announcing price increases, Good Energy is hoping the price freeze will encourage consumers to switch to greener energy.

Good Energy chief executive Juliet Davenport said the price fix “reduces the gap between the cost of renewable and fossil fuel energy”.

She added: “Price increases of recent years are in part due to the pressures on supply of traditionally-sourced energy. Good Energy believes it is possible to have a 100% renewable energy mix in the UK by 2050. We’ve developed a pathway that sets out how we can achieve this, involving changes to UK energy at every stage of the process, from grid management to investment, and from R&D to transport.”

Good Energy, the only power company selling only 100% renewable electricity, supplies more than 26,000 homes and businesses across the UK and supports a community of over 1500 independent renewable generators that use wind, small-scale hydro, solar power and sustainable biomass to generate homegrown energy.
