As the new department of Energy Security and Net Zero is launched this week, I chat to energy industry expert Wayne Mitchell about security in particular.

At the start of this winter we were told to expect blackouts, the analysts predicted bills of 5-6K for households, the government pledged billions in support with the energy price guarantee. It was expected to be armageddon.

But now wholesale energy prices have nose dived and we are sitting much more comfortably, so were the warnings just panic? Or were we just lucky with the mild weather and market flukes? How do we get energy security on the road to net zero?
