Centrica announces EV salary scheme for employees

Centrica has launched an electric vehicle (EV) salary scheme for its employees.

The workers who partake will be able to cut their own carbon footprint with a new EV and charging point installed in their homes, whilst saving money on lease payments through tax and National Insurance reductions.

The scheme aligns with the company’s aim to have a fully electric fleet by 2025 – it currently operates 700 electric vans and is ordering 3,000 for the end of 2022.

More than 100 EVs have been ordered by employees since the announcement of the scheme was made.

Steve Winter, Head of Fleet at Centrica, said: “Centrica is committed to offering colleagues and customers sustainable choices for their homes and transport.

“We have the people, infrastructure and skills to lead the transition to net zero transportation and offering colleagues in the UK an electric car lease with a BG charge point installation is a big step towards supporting customers and colleagues to live more sustainably.”
