Tate & Lyle has had its 2030 climate targets approved by the Science-Based Targets initiative (SBTi).
The ingredients and sugar business aims to cut its Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions by 30% over the next decade, with an ambition to reach an interim 20% reduction by 2025.
By 2030, it also plans to achieve a 15% absolute reduction in Scope 3 emissions, use 100% of its waste in beneficial and circular ways, and cut water use by 15%.
