Businesses could save up to £300 million annually now the Climate Change Agreement Scheme has been extended.

Climate Change Agreements (known as CCA) work by setting targets for reducing energy use in your business. In return, you could receive discounts on the Climate Change Levy (CCL) – an energy tax based on the size of your energy bills.

The 2-year extension of CCA scheme could save eligible businesses up to £300 million, per year, up to 2025. Energy-intensive companies are encouraged to sign up and start making vital savings. On buildings specifically, UK businesses are wasting energy to the tune of £60m in unnecessary energy bills, according to a Green Alliance report.

CCA Scheme extension will prevent an estimated 700,000 tonnes of CO2 from being emitted each year – equivalent to taking 350,000 cars off the road. Business benefits of Climate Change Agreements:

  • Save money
  • Improve energy efficiency
  • Cut carbon dioxide emissions and help combat climate change
  • Provide greater clarity and security at a time when your business needs it most
