Yu Energy are recruiting for a permanent BI Analyst to work in Nottingham. This role is reporting to the Head of IT.

This role will be responsible for maximising the use of business information for decision making and streamlining of business processes via latest methods and technologies to gain insight and competitive edge and for organisation to achieve its vision.

Your Role

To support business in assimilating a variety of disparate, complex data sources into a cohesive and accurate portrayal of performance and to drive action to improve performance.

Design, develop and support a suite of BI reports and dashboards that effectively convey the performance of all parts of the organisation
Design, develop and maintain our data warehouse
Produce ad-hoc assigned analyses to a high level of accuracy and within a timeframe acceptable to the recipient
Ensure a consistent message is produced across the business, including those produced by other teams
Use information analysis to identify trends and anomalies, and use acquired business knowledge to understand the underlying causes and identify root to resolution

Essential Skills

Vast experience of working with a complex data architecture (e.g. SQL Server, PostgreSQL databases)
Vast of writing complex DDL and DML scripts
Vast experience of producing insightful analysis from disparate data sources
Vast experience of using data reporting, analysis and ETL software (e.g. Microsoft SQL Server Data Tools)
A self-motivated team player, able to work on own initiative and be proactive
Able to manage time effectively and prioritise own workload
Able to work on multiple tasks simultaneously and adjust priorities as required
A good communicator capable of using data to influencing senior management to drive issue resolution
High level of attention to detail

Desirable Skills

Experience in DAX, MDX, OLAP, R, Power BI, Microsoft SQL Server Data Tools
Experience in designing and creating Data Marts, Dimensional Data Warehouses or Corporate Data Factories
Experience in utilities industry processes and data
