Title:            Settlements Analyst (Energy)

Salary:        £35,850+ excellent benefits package

Location:   Central London

 Have you gained detailed knowledge of the energy market?  Can you demonstrate experience of performing analysis and presenting this to varying levels of seniority? Our Client-operating at the heart of the wholesale electricity market are looking for a Settlements Analyst. The Settlement Operations Team is responsible for the delivery of operational processes including provision of electricity market information, reporting and data management services. The team also present the analysis and issues to industry meetings. As a Settlements Analyst you will be responsible for the delivery and management of operational, analytical and support processes. You will provide advice and guidance concerning own knowledge area for allocated tasks within the scope of the Settlement Operations team as well as provide information and analysis to customers and other interested parties. You will be recognised as a ‘subject matter expert’ in specific areas of the BSC and be able to provide support and training in those areas.

 Responsibilities:

  • Analysis- Conduct tasks and analysis with minimal supervision and direction and contribute to business projects and process improvement initiatives
  • Operations – Carry out on going operational or support processes to both customers and the team, maintaining local working instructions and produce papers for the Panel
  • Advice and Guidance - Contribute directly to the provision of advice and guidance on operational issues for internal and external customers and provide support to the Panel and its committees, through the provision of information, papers and presentations about operational issues.
  • Teamwork - Ensure colleagues and line manager are advised of key operational issues and problems and contributes to the overall effectiveness of the Settlement Operations Team and BSC Operations Department.
  • Knowledge Management - Proficient in a number of broader areas of the BSC and BSC systems and expert in six or more specific areas under the management of the Settlement Operations team.
  • Customer Service - Act as first point of contact for customer enquiries, respond promptly to requests and keep customers informed of progress. Support to customers will be provided to the highest quality standards.
  • Organisation – Flexible and able to manage a busy/varied workload while maintaining quality of work delivered. A self-starter with a real ‘can do’ attitude who can work independently and take responsibility for tasks delivered and the individual would need to be able to take the initiative and ensure tasks are brought to the logical conclusion.

Skills required

  • Education to degree level or equivalent
  • A detailed understanding of the energy market
  • Demonstrable experience of performing analysis and presenting this to varying levels of seniority
  • Be aware of the changes occurring within the GB electricity market and the potential impact these may have on industry stakeholders
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to express complex information to a targeted audience
  • A proactive approach to surpassing our customers’ expectations and understanding of the wider implications of customer requirements
  • ISEB Business Analysis desirable
