Businesses offered £30m for low emission vehicle tech

Businesses are being invited to bid for a share of up to £30 million to invest in low and zero-emission vehicle technologies in the UK.

The Advanced Propulsion Centre (APC), a government-industry body, is seeking projects that develop the technologies for both on and off-road vehicles.

They must be in the following areas - alternative propulsion systems, electric machines and power electronics, energy storage and energy management, lightweight vehicle and powertrain structures and thermal propulsion systems.

Projects must be led by a business working in partnership with others and must include an SME and a vehicle manufacturer or tier 1 supplier.

Businesses could attract up to 70% of their project costs.

The competition, delivered by Innovate UK, opens on 30th April and the deadline for applications is 27th June 2018.
