Switching satisfiying 90% of citizens

More than 90% of the public say they are satisfied with the switching process.

That's according to new research from Energy UK, which has revealed more than two thirds of customers said Energy UK's Energy Switch Guarantee (ESG) made them more confident and more likely to switch.

The ESG is a set of commitments developed by energy suppliers to provide extra reassurance to consumers that the process is simple, speedy and safe, with the whole process managed by the new supplier - it now covers 75% of the market.

So far, this year has seen a total of more than 3.5 million switches.

Tina Tietjen, Independent Chair of the Energy Switch Guarantee, said: "The guarantee is doing exactly what it was designed for - giving customers the confidence to switch their energy supplier.

"In August almost half a million customers switched supplier and with more than 50 active providers to choose from, there has never been a better time to shop around."
