Plans to install the two largest battery storage systems in North Carolina have been announced.
Duke Energy is to invest $30 million (£25.2m) in the projects – a 9MW lithium-ion battery system in the city of Asheville and a 4MW system in the town of Hot Springs.
It is also considering a solar facility in the town to work with the battery system.
Both projects are expected to be online in 2019.
