EU approves joint venture in Greek wind sector

The EU has approved the creation of a joint venture in the Greek wind power sector.

The deal between US investment management firm Centerbridge Partners and Italian energy firm Enel has passed merger regulations.

The joint venture plans to build and operate seven wind farms at Kafireas in Greece with a total installed capacity of 154MW.

It was concluded the acquisition would raise no competition concerns due to the limited overlaps between each of the companies' activities.
