Scottish EV network gets a jump-start

Scottish EV users will enjoy an improved charging network thanks to a new agreement.

The £750,000 contract sees Charge Your Car (CYC) appointed to operate Transport Scotland's Charge Place Scotland network of more than 550 electric vehicle charge points. They will also provide upgraded customer service facilities and create a robust fault management system to help users.

The Charge Place Scotland network of public EV charge points is funded by Transport Scotland and delivered around 1,220,000 kWh of electricity a year.

Humza Yousaf, Minister for Transport and the Islands, said: “The Scottish Government has set a clear vision of freeing Scotland’s towns, cities and communities from the damaging emissions of fossil-fuelled vehicles by 2050. Our aim is to encourage more individuals and businesses to make the switch to electric vehicles."

CYC is one of the UK’s first open access charge point network operators, offering clients across the UK a wealth of resources and experience.
