UK offers £28m for innovative energy projects

The government has announced it will offer £28 million to bring innovative energy projects to market.

Businesses that want a share of money will have to present new solutions to provide affordable, sustainable and secure energy delivery.

They will also have to work on the integration of different modes of transport.

The funding is part of the Department for Business, Innovation and Skill’s £57 million boost for energy and infrastructure, biomedical and quantum technology sectors.

Business Secretary Sajid Javid said: "Creating opportunities for businesses to thrive in the UK is essential for increasing productivity, creating jobs and boosting our economy. That’s why government is working with businesses across all sectors to ensure they have the support they need to grow now and in the future."
