£1.1 million investment for water upgrade in Wales

An investment worth £1.1 million will be made to upgrade the water network in Holyhead, Wales.

Welsh Water is providing the money for the improvement works which will ensure customers continue to receive "a first class, reliable supply of tap water for decades to come".

The project will take around 20 weeks.

The company stated while the works are taking place there shouldn’t be any disruption to customers’ drinking water.

Jim Grundy, North West Distribution Manager for Welsh Water said: “We have had some bursts in the past on the water main in the area which on occasions has unfortunately affected the nearby allotments. As a result we are investing over £1 million in the main which will improve the reliability of the network and ensure customers continue to receive a high quality supply of water."
