EU bank invests €75m in Danish renewable fund

An EU bank is providing €75 million (£52.5m) for a renewable energy fund in Denmark.

Copenhagen Infrastructure II fund will invest the cash in green projects located mainly in Northern and Western Europe.

The projects include offshore wind, biomass and transmission schemes.

Around 4,000 jobs are expected to be created during construction and 1,000 during operation.

Jonathan Taylor, European Investment Bank Vice President responsible for lending in Denmark said: “We are proud to support this innovative fund as it will contribute to the achievement of European targets for renewable energy generation and carbon emissions reduction, safeguarding and creating at the same time a significant number of jobs.
