Day One dusted off on the ELN power ride

Day One dusted off on the ELN power ride

Geoff Curran writes last night...

Day One is over for the Energy Live News power ride and we are in sunny Royston in Herts. As I type, Sumit is showering and I am trying to multitask whilst writing and stretching.

What a great day, an easy day to get us started as we did the very flat river Lea navigation out of London and we took loads of photos and footage. It is fair to say, we messed around and did not burn a trail which frankly, it is exactly how I want to do the seven days.

There are two reasons we are doing this ride, Parkinson's UK and showing energy off in the UK. We had a great start at Tate modern with Dave Clark of Sky Sports coming to see us off. He is a great inspiration....he has Parkinsons and uses every opportunity to raise funds for the charity and he makes sure the disease does not drag him down. So if you can donate, please do here.

On the energy front, we saw loads.....a power station on the edge of London, pylons, gas tanks, solar panels and wind turbines, the last two on barges on the river Lea!

It is now time to eat and drink and if you happen to be in march, Cambridgeshire, tomorrow evening, then feel free to join me for a beer.
