DECC issued £2.6m for new Green Deal fund

A total of £2.61 million was issued to householders across England and Wales through the Government’s new energy efficiency scheme in its first week.

The Green Deal Home Improvement Fund, which was launched last month, offers householders up to £7,600 for installing measures including solid wall insulation, double glazing and efficient boilers.

The scheme saw more than 1,700 applications made for the fund, according to DECC.

Energy Secretary Ed Davey said: “We’ve changed the Green Deal to make it simpler and faster for people to make their homes more energy efficient – you could get up to £7600 back, straight into your bank account.”

Under the new incentive scheme, domestic energy customers can get up to £1,000 for installing two measures from an approved list, up to £6,000 for solid wall insulation and refunded up to £100 for their Green Deal Assessment.
