Energy awards ‘crucial for differentiating standards of care’

Award programmes are playing an increasingly important role for businesses and are particularly crucial for differentiating standards of care in the energy industry.

That's the view of energy company CNG Ltd, which is sponsoring one of the categories at The Energy Live Consultancy Awards (TELCAs) next week. The firm told ELN it particularly chose the SME Best Customer Service category as part of its desire to champion quality of service “in an increasingly competitive and credit-driven marketplace”.

CNG suggests businesses should build awards into their overall strategy for bettering service and maintaining a culture of continuous improvement but warned it is about “more than ticking the criteria boxes on submission forms”.

Jacqui Hall (pictured), MD at CNG Ltd added: “Entering and ultimately winning awards is an excellent way to demonstrate outwardly a commitment to quality and that your business is built on more than just getting the bills out to customers. Organisations must always be looking for the next opportunity to exceed customer expectation if they expect to be recognised as a leading service provider. Customers are increasingly aware of what constitutes an all-round great service; it is about consistently high-standard delivery not merely paying lip-service to an idea of it.”

She said CNG is looking to build a portfolio that exceeds the needs of the customer in terms of quality and the range of services.

Jacqui went on: “We have built a culture of actively seeking carefully selected, targeted awards opportunities to demonstrate to our customer that we can and do go above and beyond to alter perceptions of our industry.

“We encourage entrants in these awards to continue to seek a variety of opportunities – awards and others - to showcase their strengths and see the value in putting the customer first. It has been a model which has brought us great success and we continue to look for ways to differentiate ourselves.”

Winners of The Energy Live Consultancy Awards will be announced at the inaugural, Oscars-style ceremony on June 27th.
