Korean firm plans solar project in India

A Korean firm has signed a deal with the Government of a southwest Indian state (pictured) to set up a solar manufacturing facility.

Earlier this year, the Kerala state Government unveiled its target of installing 1,500MW of solar capacity by 2030.

Under the agreement between Jusung Engineering and Kerala State Industrial Development Corporation, the Korean company will initially carry out a study to see if the project - estimated to cost INR 500 crore (£59.8m) - is viable, according to reports.

The first phase of the project is expected to have a capacity of 100MW.
