Irish and UK firms mount efficiency crusade

An Irish firm is teaming up with a UK energy savings expert to cut the cost of energy on the Emerald Isle. County Carlow-based energy management provider, Energy MCS and Marshall-Tufflex Energy Management (MTEM), are launching a voltage optimiser, called Voltis, in Ireland.

Michael McNerney of Energy MCS said: "The cost of energy is a strong business issue in Ireland. We therefore considered it timely to provide a voltage optimisation service."

The device uses 'intelligent' control to reduce power consumption bymonitoring power demand, matching the supply with the amount of energy electrical equipment needs.
