Carbon Trust cuts funding for surveys

Funding for energy surveys has been cut today. The Carbon Trust are withdrawing the funding for companies in England. The cuts will not apply to companies in Scotland, Wales and Northern Island.

The withdrawal of funding will come as a blow to businesses at a time when many are facing tighter financial constraints in the current economic climate.

A spokesperson for The Carbon Trust told ELN: "Our overall reduction in public funding from DECC means that it is just not possible for us to continue to provide free on site surveys for businesses in England. We will be continuing to support business via our advice line and publications. We will also be launching a variety of new online support tools in the coming months.

"In Scotland and Wales funding has been provided at levels to enable us to continue to offer on-site surveys."
