Partnership will allow both companies to adopt innovative start-up solutions
It has been created to help achieve country-specific net zero goals faster, encourage action and enhance understanding of renewables-based solutions
The companies are looking to produce 3GW of hydrogen a year by 2025
The commitments have been made as part of its Sustainability Report
The collaboration will initially focus on the European market for new low carbon power generation, where a combination of new turbines and carbon capture and storage can provide sustainable solutions fit for the 21st century
They intend to focus their activities in the co-creation of industrial-scale hydrogen projects in collaboration with customers, especially in France and Germany
GeoPura and Siemens Energy say the hydrogen power unit offset around 425 kilogrammes of carbon dioxide, compared to using diesel generators
It is expected to enable the decarbonisation of hard-to-abate sectors such as transport and heavy industry
