The pub and brewer has pledged to halve all emissions by the end of the decade
It claims its paper will provide the clarity needed to the financial sector to hit net zero by 2050
It has also committed to only using 100% renewable energy by 2025
The commitments have been made as part of its Sustainability Report
The company said it has already purchased enough carbon offsets to make it carbon-neutral in 2020
It builds on the firm’s EnviroAction programme, which since 2008 has reduced emissions intensity by 35% and is on track to deliver a 60% reduction by 2030
The UK investment fund also expects companies to adopt a target for net zero emissions by 2050 and wants executive pay to be linked to sustainability goals
The company is targeting a 55% reduction in emissions by 2030, compared to the 2005 baseline and aiming for net zero emissions by 2050
