Hydrogen

Hydrogen is a gas of high calorific value and when burned does not produce carbon dioxide. It will play a crucial role in achieving net zero emissions and transitioning to a sustainable energy system. Hydrogen used in a net zero system will be either produced by processes which generate carbon dioxide but which is permanently extracted and stored (blue hydrogen), or through the use of renewable power to allow the electrolysis of water (green hydrogen).
