Heat pumps

Heating is responsible for over a third of UK carbon emissions. Reducing our carbon emissions to net zero by 2050 means we must decarbonise the heating of over 30 million homes and businesses across the UK in a little over 25 years. The UK government expects at least four million heat pumps to be installed by the end of the decade. A heat pump can reduce carbon emissions by up to 70 per cent compared with a gas boiler and as we decarbonise the supply of electricity this will only increase.
