Sustainability boost for hard-to-abate power plants

Multinational corporation, Honeywell, has partnered with solutions provider, SAMSUNG E&A to lower emissions of hard-to-abate power plants globally.

The companies will look into using Carbon Capture, Utilisation and Storage (CCUS) to significantly reduce CO2, as a crucial stopgap during the expected transition from fossil fuels to lower-carbon energy sources.

Honeywell's carbon capture technologies have been used in many projects worldwide. From 2023 to 2030, they are expected to reduce 320 million metric tons of CO2 equivalent.

Ken West, President of Honeywell Energy and Sustainability Solutions said: 'Honeywell has long been a global leader in carbon capture technologies and our collaboration with SAMSUNG E&A only further highlights our commitment to reducing emissions and tackling climate challenges.

'With decades of experience and a broad portfolio of carbon capture solutions, we are ready to help businesses meet growing carbon mitigation expectations and increasingly stringent environment goals by abating emissions from existing sources.'
