‘Homebuyers want sustainable housing’

New research reveals that homebuyers value sustainability when looking for houses
‘Homebuyers want sustainable housing’

A new survey by homebuilders, Pye Homes reveals that buyers are prioritising sustainability and a sense of community when house hunting.

A poll of its customers and prospective buyers revealed that 98 per cent said it was important they felt part of a community, while over a third (34 per cent) rated energy-efficient features as important in a new home - more important than a garden (24 per cent) or parking (17 per cent).

Only location (96 per cent), affordability (57 per cent) and the number of rooms (56 per cent) were deemed more important than sustainability.

Graham Flint, Managing Director at Pye Homes said: 'This survey makes for fascinating reading, and shows the importance of continuing to build homes which not only care for the environment, but which have communities at their heart. It’s satisfying to hear this feedback, as both are fundamental to Pye Homes’ philosophy.'

Pye Homes is currently creating their Church Farm development which prioritises sustainability.
