Jiulong Lake Town in China has created all-electric homestays where all equipment for cooking, heating, lighting and hot water supply relies on electricity to boost tourism.
Jiulong Lake Town in Zhenhai District is Ningbo is known for its beautiful scenery, numerous homestays and convenient transportation.
According to ChinaDaily, homestays, especially those with unique features, have become more popular in China than hotels.
Long Fei, a researcher at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences said: 'Chinese consumers have been seeking better quality and unique experiences. Besides satisfying the demand for basic accommodation, homestay operators have focused on providing travellers with personalized experiences that distinguish them from hotels.'
The all-electric homestays aims to attract more tourists with the added feature and boost the town's economy. It will help bring funding into rural land, housing and help farmers from low-income households find employment.
Electricity distribution company that helped in the electrification process, The State Grid Zhejiang Electric Power Ningbo Electric Power Supply Company, believes that the home-stays are an engaging new practice in environmental protection.
