Argentina powers up with its first electric bus

Argentinian bus operator DOTA S.A, has put the country's first domestically manufactured electric bus into operation in the capital city of Buenos Aires.

The bus has a fully electric, zero emissions range of 250km and can be recharged in 5-7 hours.

It features UK-based technology company, Equipmake’s Zero Emission Drivetrain (ZED), a modular and scalable electric drivetrain solution suitable for single and double-deck applications.

It has been produced by Argentine-Brazilian manufacturer Agrale with a body by bus parts supplier, Todo Bus.

Ian Foley, Chief Executive Officer of Equipmake said: 'We are delighted that DOTA S.A has put this pioneering electric bus into operation in Buenos Aires. This is Argentina’s first domestically manufactured e-bus and together with our partners Agrale and Todo Bus, Equipmake is playing a key role in the acceleration of Buenos Aires’ mission to halve its carbon emissions by 2030 and become entirely carbon-neutral by 2050.'
