A university programme, led by The University of Warwick, has contributed to a 32% reduction in energy consumption among more than 50 small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the West Midlands.

This achievement comes in the wake of an energy crisis that threatened the closure of 60% of critical UK manufacturers in the region.

The programme focuses on simplifying energy management, sustainability and innovation for manufacturers across the UK.

Engineers, innovation managers and industry experts within the network offer practical tools and programmes to help SMEs overcome barriers related to time, internal skills and cash flow.

Moreover, the Net Zero Innovation Network provides access to equipment at the University to assist companies in reducing their energy consumption.
