Here we look at carbon dioxide removal (CDR) and carbon capture and storage (CCUS) technologies that will play a vital role in helping us reach that important goal.
What is carbon removal and carbon capture and storage?
Carbon dioxide removal is the process of removing carbon emissions directly from the atmosphere. It’s different from carbon capture and storage, which captures carbon dioxide (CO2) emitted by a smokestack or flue, transports it and stores it safely and permanently – often underground. Both approaches have the potential to help the UK reach Net Zero.
