London’s Ultra Low Emission Zone (ULEZ) scrappage scheme has been extended to encompass all residents in anticipation of the ULEZ expansion on 29th August.

Commencing 21st August, all London residents can apply for grants to replace their older, polluting cars or motorcycles.

This means that every Londoner with a non-compliant vehicle is eligible for up to £2,000 to swap their old cars.

Furthermore, additional support is now accessible for businesses, charities and disabled drivers.

The ULEZ scrappage scheme’s fund has been bolstered by an extra £50 million, bringing its total to £160 million.

The Mayor of London Sadiq Khan said: “There’s still plenty of money available in the scrappage scheme and, with one week to go until the ULEZ is expanded, I am urging all Londoners with non-compliant vehicles to apply now.

“Currently nine out of ten cars seen driving in outer London are already compliant, but these grants will make a real difference to those drivers with non-compliant vehicles. Together we can help build a better, greener city for all Londoners.”
