Renewable energy is one of the worst performing home improvement sectors, according to dispute resolution specialist Dispute Assist.
Its report suggests technical issues from renewable energy instalments accounted for 43.4% of all cases received by the company last year.
That was followed by contractual issues, which accounted for 27.5% of the renewable dispute cases received.
Colin Niblock, Business Development Manager at Dispute Assist, said: “While the renewable installation sector currently has less disputes than other home improvement sectors due to smaller installation volumes, technical issues remain a major issue for businesses operating in this area.
“Also, disputes are only likely to increase as solar power rises in popularity with homeowners becoming more conscious of the environmental benefits and the significant cost savings it brings. So now is the time for businesses to take action.”
The company predicts chances of customer disputes will increase as more households turn to renewable energy.
