Taiwan becomes UK’s largest offshore wind market in Asia Pacific

The UK now boasts an 86GW pipeline of offshore wind globally

Taiwan is now the UK’s largest offshore wind market in the Asia Pacific region, with more than 36 British offshore wind companies setting up offices in the country.

The country has also been selected by Britain as the host for its next presentation of offshore and floating wind projects, as well as hydrogen.

The UK has affirmed its position to help Taiwan in achieving its 2050 net zero goals – and is hopeful this showcasing will benefit the country in more investment.

Renewable technologies will be highlighted by 12 UK firms in the Asian country, as the government looks to take action on its Hydrogen Strategy – planning to have 5GW of low carbon hydrogen capacity by 2030.

The UK now boasts an 86GW pipeline of offshore wind globally.

Taipei Nangang Exhibition Centre Hall will host the event, in a deal between the British Office Taipei, the Scottish Development International and the Taiwan Institute of Economic Research.
