We must still ‘source and use energy in a different way’
The Prime Minister announced a £2,500 energy bill freeze yesterday to combat the increase of the price cap to £3,459 from 1st October.
Nigel Hartnup, Director at Laser Energy, responded to the intervention: “After a sustained period of rapidly increasing energy market prices, businesses and the public sector will welcome the government’s intervention to cap energy prices.
“There are still further details required to understand how the cap will work in practice and we’re keen to see and understand these on behalf of our customers.
“The level of the price cap will still be exceptionally high compared to energy prices that most customers are used to, so this won’t prevent budget shock.
“The driver remains to source and use energy in a different way and accelerate energy efficiency and renewable energy projects to reduce our reliance on grid energy.”
