The number of electric vehicle (EV) charging points in Burnley has tripled since 2019.

That’s according to new data by the Department for Transport, which also revealed that the number of rapid charging stations within the Lancashire town has doubled in 2022 alone.

In 2019, Burnley boasted just 10 points for the public to charge their cars – but this has now risen to more than 30.

Overall, between April and July of this year, more than 1,700 public EV chargers were installed in the UK – representing a 6% increase of the entire network.
