The government is backing flying taxis and vaccine carrying drones with £12 million.

This will be made available through the Regulators’ Pioneer Fund, for projects that are advancing technology and helping push the UK towards a less carbon-intensive future.

Alongside the electric taxis and drones, projects are also being included that use technology including AI to build medical devices and means for treating diseases.

Business Minister Lord Callanan said: “By empowering regulators to embrace the most exciting developments in their industry, we’ll pave the way for entrepreneurship that can deliver tangible benefits for the British public.”
