EV company Rivian considering axing 5% of workforce

According to reports, electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer Rivian is considering offloading around 5% of its workforce, representing hundreds of jobs.

The job cuts are set to allegedly focus on non-manufacturing roles, with the company seemingly becoming overstaffed in the last few months – with many duplicate roles in various teams.

As of December last year, Rivian stated it had more than 10,000 employees worldwide.

The company has revealed it is on target to produce 25,000 vehicles by the end of this year – and has also stressed that the job cuts are merely in a discussion stage at the moment and are not definite.

future Net Zero has contacted Rivian for a response.
