Why is energy efficiency so vital right now?

“If we fast-track efforts to improve energy efficiency, we could reduce global annual emissions by 2030 so significantly that a third of the cuts needed for 2050 could be achieved. And by 2050, the power sector will need to reduce its emissions by 95-98%.

“So, that’s clearly quite staggering and to de-risk that daunting challenge, energy efficiency clearly has a key role to play.”

That’s the view of Will Ennett, Head of Sustainability at TalkTalk, who spoke at the Big Zero Show, as part of the Big Zero Lectures.
